McFarland PR & Public Affairs Promotes Hannah to Consultant Role
Hannah to lead sports-marketing accounts
INDIANAPOLIS (April 17, 2019) – McFarland PR & Public Affairs, Inc., has promoted Kevin Hannah to associate public-relations consultant. The Irvington-based company, known best for its issues and crisis communication work with government, transportation and the energy industry, will leverage Hannah’s education and background to support its sports marketing and public-relations management accounts.
Hannah led the day-to-day management of the company’s launch of We Changed the Game, a book about the formation of the Indiana Pacers and life in the American Basketball Association, written by Pacers co-founder Dick Tinkham, original Pacers player Bob Netolicky and former Pacers beat reporter Robin Miller. Hannah also managed public relations for the women’s professional U.S. 2018 Mountain Bike National Champion.
“Kevin can handle anything we throw at him, but he really knows sports and the business of sports management, and he has a natural way of building rapport with clients and managing news media,” said McFarland president, Stephanie McFarland. “We plan to continue to build the sports arm of our business, as it includes marketing, issue and crisis-management and public-affairs as well, and Kevin will lead that client roster on the marketing side.”
Hannah began as an intern with McFarland in 2017 and was promoted a few short months later in 2018 to a public-relations specialist. As a Franklin College student, Hannah served as the sports director for WFCI radio, where he managed a weekly sports show and announced the play-by-play for Franklin College football and basketball games.
Hannah earned his bachelor of science degree in public relations and a minor in business from Franklin College.
